Travelling Seed Creatures - workshop write-up

Sharing Seed Facilitators, Nikki Hafter and Becky Howarth, ran an online workshop with J4Y Beaver Scout Group this Sunday. All senses were awoken from the get go as 22 8-year olds explored from their homes the aray of seeds Sharing Seeds had provided them with. They moved their fingers blind around the variety of textures ; peered down toilet roll telecopes to have a closer look, listened to a soundtrack of a forest cacophony and imagined and shared the sounds the seeds would make if they had a voice. The session them moved to an imagination of how the seeds could travel. The group looked at dandelion, burdock, acorns and himalayan bulsen and guessed how the seeds would travel around Tooting before applying the same logic to the set of seeds in front of them. With imaginations running, the group then sculptured Seed Creatures to transport the wild flower seed mix Sharing Seeds had provided.
